These are absolutely, very much not in any particular order. They are just here to show that our hunger for something goes way beyond just enough, or “lagom”!
Of course you should be able to make checks and dice rolls from your app - even if very simple at first! But DC20 is special, you rarely just roll, you often have choices and options such as spending more AP to add Advantage or piling on more mana into your Cantrips to make them more deadly. So a proper, thought out UI for that will be a must.
I mean, that would be awesome, and hopefully possible. Imagine making your characters in the app - and then have them available in any and all VTTs. Definitely worth a look!
“Oh, you’ve bought the physical book - well then you have access to its content here too”; that’s something I want to be able to say. If it could also account for VTTs, then that’s just nothing short of a miracle. This might be something way out of our control as app developers - but oh what a dream.
Patrons receive the DC20 Magazine. Some of its content might be hard to be on top of, but collections such as Classes, subclasses and spells etc. That would be great to offer - and also seamlessly through Patreon.
Monsters, Magical Items, Weapons, Armors - Coach and his team have created a customisable experience for almost every aspect of the game where we can build to our hearts desire. So of course that will need to be available for us in digital form, and to our characters (and their sheets).
The app for the game that started out as homebrew must support homebrew! I would like to see a community eco-system of Magical Items, Classes, Subclasses, Spells etc. The app is built so that these can be added from official sources - so I see no problem having that source be the players! (With some curation, love and care of course; I’m looking at you dndbeyond.)
Access to the core rules in a digital format; searchable, linkable etc. This will have to be tied to the level of content the users have access to. But starting with the free rules, and then move onto books, magazines and 3rd party - it should all be available!
I want to see the grouping of characters in a campaign as something more than just the option to have the DM to pay for letting players use their paid for content (I mean on an agnostic level, not accusing anyone in particular…). Campaigns to me should be creating a space for that campaign and everything that goes with it: applying homebrew rules, session planning, communication and hopefully much more. For instance hand
The app and its rules engine is built to allow tweaking; “Actually Prime is highest attribute +1”, “Initial Skill Points is 5 + Prime”, “Everyone starts with an extra Talent”, “Let’s start with no ancestry traits and instead gain 1 each level”. This is something that will for sure happen that should be available to individual characters and campaigns. No number or formula is safe!
